"Tailored Therapy for Every Journey:
Where Individuality Meets Healing. Unlocking Potential through CBT, TA, and PC in Integrative Therapy – Transforming Lives, One Approach at a Time!"

WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE THERAPY?

Integrative therapy is a combination of different types of therapeutic approaches often used within counselling. Just as each and every person is different, with different life struggles, it’s important for us to tailor our therapeutic approach to meet the needs of the individual.

There are 3 main theories used with our Integrative therapy approach…these are CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), TA (Transactional Analysis) and PC (Person Centred Therapy). As our Integrative therapist spends time getting to know you, they’ll be able to weave each approach into sessions when suitable.

Person Centred Approach (PC)

Person Centred therapy is a therapeutic approach that believes everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, if they are given the right conditions. With this in mind, our therapists will create a space that allows for Empathy, Congruence and Unconditional Positive regard to flourish, which inevitably, will help you explore your own point of view, allow for the expression of feelings and support you in finding the right solutions for you.  This approach is built upon the firm foundation that you hold the answers to living a purposeful, happy and fulfilled life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a goal, orientated therapeutic approach to counselling which looks at the thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how these are connected. Your therapist will use a range of aids and techniques, which adds structure to sessions and involves the examination and questioning of unhelpful thinking…it can also teach you to be your own therapist. We believe our feelings follow our thought process, therefore if we examine and analyse the thoughts, we may be able to have more control over our feelings and behaviours.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Transactional analysis focuses on exploring how we interact within our relationships This helps us to understand why we think, feel and act in a certain way, and can help to enhance how we communicate with others.

Transactional Analysis is very much a talking therapy and sessions are designed to help you explore your own personality and how this has been shaped by your own childhood experiences.

Transactional Analysis is an exciting method of understanding ‘self’ and others to improve interpersonal relationships.

So, whatever you choose to bring to your therapy sessions, your Integrative Therapist will respond to you using these approaches in order to help you understand yourself more fully, and bring about positive change.

WHO IS INTEGRATIVE THERAPY FOR?

Integrative therapy is suitable for Adults, Young People, Children and Families alike. This approach has enabled people to move beyond their current limitations and discover improved ways of being.

Integrative therapy is also very useful when using a whole family approach especially when working with young people where relational issues may occur between teenagers and parents. Transactional Analysis is especially beneficial in these cases to allow the families to understand how they interact with each other and the effects of this upon each individual. However, this doesn’t suit all families, so individual sessions can be established where appropriate.

This approach has also been used with primary aged children, where there is the ability to discuss and talk things through.  Through this approach, children often begin to understand themselves more fully, cope more readily with their own feelings and those related to others.
